What efficiency measures could be installed?

Depending on your eligibility, you could benefit from upgrades to your home’s insulation, increasing the energy efficiency and saving you money over the winter. Our engineers can install all types of insulation, but the scheme mostly targets Cavity Wall Insulation & Loft Insulation.

Who’s the scheme aimed at?

The scheme is designed to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce energy bills for the most vulnerable and those living on the lowest incomes. The scheme extends support to a wide range of households living in the least energy-efficient homes in the country.

How do I know if I’m eligible?

Under the GBIS Scheme, there will be two groups with different eligibility criteria, the general group and the low-income eligibility group. To be eligible for the scheme, you’ll need to have an EPC rating of D or below and receive means-tested benefits, or have a household income of below £31,000.

Check you’re eligible

There are plenty of reasons why you could qualify for energy efficiency measures under the GBIS Scheme, so make sure you apply.

Step 2
Survey your home

Once we’ve checked you’re eligible for the Scheme, we’ll send one of our retrofit assessors to complete a whole house survey at a time convenient to you. We’ll see if it’s possible to install the insulation in your home.

Step 3
Begin the Install

Let us know what day(s) works best for you and we’ll get your new insulation installed – hassle-free. Once set up, your home will feel warmer and much more cosy.

Make your savings

No, the scheme is open to all, we will assess your application even if you are not a Utilita customer.

GBIS will target mostly Cavity Wall Insulation & Loft Insulation.

GBIS aims to install single low-cost insulation measures and not use a multi-measure approach. This is to keep it less costly and make it quicker to install.

Yes, you can qualify for GBIS if you live in a private or social rented property providing you meet the tenant criteria above. Please note we will require approval from the landlord.
